Key Responsibilities
You will be the key operator managing the complete cycle of concrete delivery, from plant to pour site.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations and safely drive a manual transmission concrete mixer truck to and from job sites within a local radius.
- Skillfully maneuver and position the truck on uneven ground at job sites. Attach, detach, and clean delivery chutes, and add required ingredients (fibers, color) to the mix as specified.
- Complete all delivery paperwork accurately and maintain clear communication with the plant dispatcher via two-way radio. Interact professionally with customers on-site.
- Wash down the truck and equipment after each delivery and handle the physical tasks of managing heavy chutes and climbing ladders to inspect loads.
Qualifications
This role requires a specific license, physical capability, and a resilient attitude suited to construction environments.
- A valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement and a current DOT medical card are mandatory.
- The ability to proficiently operate a manual transmission vehicle with multiple gears is required, involving significant clutch work.
- Physical strength and stamina are essential. You must be able to: climb in/out of a high cab 50+ times daily, lift and carry chutes weighing up to 50 lbs, apply significant force (45-60 lbs) to handle equipment, and lift bags of ingredients (9-24 lbs) up a ladder.
- Excellent defensive driving skills, basic math and English literacy, and the ability to interact diplomatically with customers in stressful situations.
- Must be able to pass a DOT drug screen and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
