Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the “front-line” of the mall’s appearance and hygiene. Your core duties include:

•  Emptying waste containers and replacing liners continuously to maintain a clutter-free environment.
• Sweeping all floor areas, including storefront ledges and baseboards, and dusting high fixtures, kiosks, and vendor carts.
• Keeping benches, tables, and chairs in common areas clean and presentable for our guests.
• Hygiene Management: Maintaining the cleanliness of washrooms, corridors, entrance glass, and carpets, ensuring they are free of debris or gum.
• Recycling Operations: Managing recycling containers and transporting materials to our specialized recycling stations.
• Ensuring all passenger and freight elevators, as well as stroller stations, are clean and functional.
• Immediately notifying supervisors of any vandalism, equipment malfunctions, or compactor clogs.
• Seasonal Support: Assisting with tasks like snow removal and salting sidewalks during the winter months to ensure guest safety.

To succeed in this professional maintenance environment, we are looking for:

• Experience: Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with WHMIS legislation and safety protocols.
• Physical Capability: The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work comfortably with lifts.
• Communication: Strong customer service skills to interact positively with mall guests and vendors.
• Availability: Flexible availability to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including days, afternoons, or overnights and weekends.
• Independence: The ability to execute tasks efficiently with minimal direct supervision.
