These are real roles with real hours, supporting some of the region’s most active construction and remediation sites. If you already have demolition or asbestos removal experience, excellent. Key Responsibilities

You will be placed with one of our client crews across Dunedin, working on active demolition, insulation, or construction sites. Your specific duties will depend on your placement and experience level.

  • Safely handle and move materials weighing between 10–30 kilograms throughout the workday .
  • Install insulation materials with care and precision, ensuring full coverage and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform demolition tasks including stripping out interiors, breaking down structures, and clearing debris.
  • Operate hand tools and basic plant equipment as directed (training provided).
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces when required, following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and efficient work pace throughout your shift.
  • Remain on your feet for extended periods while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Settle into a specific department or crew after initial training to build expertise and grow within the industry .
  • Follow all site health and safety rules, including the correct use of PPE and chemical handling procedures where applicable.

Qualifications

We are looking for attitude first, experience second. If you have the relevant tickets, excellent. If you are starting out but are reliable and physically capable, we will invest in your training.

You must have:

  • The legal right to work in New Zealand either NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa .
  • Physical capability to perform manual labour, including lifting, carrying, standing for extended periods, and working in varied environmental conditions.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic you show up on time, every day, ready to work.
  • A positive, coachable attitude you take direction well and are genuinely willing to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work independently when required, taking initiative and completing tasks without constant supervision.
  • Good communication skills for effective collaboration within diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Competency with basic numeracy and literacy essential for understanding safety documentation and site instructions .
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Ministry of Justice security check .

It is a significant bonus if you have:

  • Previous experience in demolition, asbestos removal, or insulation installation.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Availability for shift work, including weekends and overtime as required.
