Here is an opportunity for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician who wants to work with a stable, long-standing company just outside of Atlanta. Tara Plastics in Forest Park is seeking a full-time technician to join our maintenance team, earning between $30 and $33 per hour. What You Will Be Doing

  • You will perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on production equipment, documenting your work daily to monitor and maintain machine condition.
  • You will troubleshoot and repair unexpected breakdowns quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and keeping production on schedule.
  • You will work with motors, conveyor systems, transfer systems, and other production-related equipment, diagnosing issues and installing replacement parts as needed.
  • You will read and interpret engineering blueprints, relay logic, and electrical schematics to guide your troubleshooting and repairs.
  • You will work with PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, HMIs, and other automation equipment common in heavy manufacturing environments.
  • You will handle electrical work up to 480V three-phase circuits, install panel boxes, and maintain motor controls and lighting circuits.
  • You will perform welding, plumbing, and mechanical repairs as needed to keep equipment running.
  • You will coordinate with maintenance management and production supervisors, reporting deficient conditions and scheduling regular maintenance.
  • You will maintain clean and organized shop areas, electrical rooms, and PLC rooms, following all safety and GMP standards.
  • You will assist other technicians as needed, and may step in to support production leads by training or filling in for machine operators when required.

What We Are Looking For

  • You have strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with proven experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment.
  • You understand PLC programming and can troubleshoot and make changes as needed.
  • You are familiar with Allen Bradley PLC systems, RSLinx, process control instrumentation, and motor starters and controls.
  • You can read and understand relay logic, engineering blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • You are comfortable using test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, amprobes, and data recorders.
  • You have experience with pneumatic control systems and understand power distribution and wiring practices.
  • You can work independently with minimal supervision, but you also collaborate well with other technicians and departments.
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship is a definite plus.
  • You are familiar with OSHA and NFPA safety standards and follow safe work practices at all times.
  • You have basic computer and report-writing skills to document your work clearly.
  • You are physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
