Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, the Laundry Aide ensures the laundering of linen and clothing is completed to the highest standards.

  • Perform routine laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and personal clothing.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment safely and according to guidelines.
  • Use WHMIS chemicals properly, following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain the laundry room in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Participate in policy reviews, facility committees, and ongoing education opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to laundry services.
  • Report relevant resident information for care conferences and immediately communicate any changes in a resident’s condition to the charge nurse.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to support resident well-being.

Qualifications and Traits

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, communicative, and committed to providing quality service in a senior care environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Grade 12 secondary school diploma.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members.
  • Active interest in ongoing education and professional development.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred (But Not Essential):

  • Experience with environmental programs or laundry services in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
