Key Responsibilities
As a Pest Plant Operator, you’ll carry out vegetation and pest plant management activities across the Rodney district.
- Perform chemical spraying and application of herbicides to control pest plants.
- Carry out manual removal of weeds in parks and reserves.
- Operate spray equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
- Assist other teams as required, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe workplace for yourself, your team, and the public.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a passion for working outdoors, and a commitment to safety. Pest plant management experience is ideal but not essential what matters most is your willingness to learn and get stuck in.
Essential Requirements:
- A clean and current driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- A current GrowSafe Certificate.
- A team player with a positive attitude helping out teammates comes naturally.
- A desire to adhere to the company’s health and safety procedures.
- Physically fit, as the role involves a lot of walking and heavy lifting.
- In accordance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, the successful applicant will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred (But Not Essential):
- Pest plant management experience.
