Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding duties using various techniques including MIG, TIG, wire welding, spot welding, and oxy/acetylene torch.
  • Clean and dress welds to ensure a smooth, professional finish.
  • Set up and lay out work using material handling equipment or hand layouts.
  • Manually operate hand-held sanders, grinders, wire wheels, and other finishing tools.
  • Weld I-beams, frames, and fuel tanks in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as required.
  • Clamp, hold, tack weld, drill, mill, tap, cut, and bolt components together for complete welding.
  • Inspect products, equipment, and tools regularly for defects and malfunctions.
  • Create quality welds according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Inspect all welds and rework any that do not meet standards.
  • Change wire and gas on welding machines as needed throughout the day.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used safely at all times.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and request repairs when necessary.
  • Assist with fuel tank pressure testing and any required rework.
  • Complete work to meet timely standards and quality expectations.
  • Account for time and completed work through weekly timesheets.
  • Report any material, production, quality, or safety issues to management promptly.
  • Show flexibility and a strong teamwork orientation, ready to help where needed.
  • Be willing to cross-train and take on other job tasks in addition to primary welding duties.

Qualifications and Experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of welding experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding is essential.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Skill in the use and care of welding equipment and tools.
  • Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and their proper use.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety-conscious behavior at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and solve problems as they arise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MIG Welding Certification is strongly preferred.
  • TIG Welding Certification is a plus.
  • Vocational training or prior welding education is an advantage.

Pay and Benefits
