Linde is looking for a Machine Operator to join our team in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. This is a full-time role operating and troubleshooting an air separation plant work that requires focus, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently on rotating 12-hour shifts. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating and monitoring plant processes: You’ll run the air separation plant safely and efficiently, following procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Using troubleshooting skills: When things deviate from normal, you’ll recognize the issue and resolve it quickly.
  • Interacting with control systems: During plant start-up and normal operations, you’ll work with electronic, pneumatic, and PLC 5 control systems from Allen Bradley.
  • Inspecting equipment and conditions: You’ll keep an eye on process equipment and conditions, making sure everything runs as it should.
  • Performing preventive maintenance: When needed, you’ll complete maintenance tasks, participate in equipment upgrades, and support corporate programs locally.
  • Improving productivity and reliability: You’ll use your process knowledge to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Communicating professionally: You’ll interact with contractors, visitors, customers, colleagues, and management—clear communication matters here.
  • Working independently: You’ll be on your own for much of your shift, so you need to be self-reliant and capable of prioritizing tasks without direct supervision.

What You Must Have

  • Certificate in Stationary Engine Mechanics, Class 4 or equivalent (MMF certificate, refrigeration equipment, class B, or Fixed Machine Mechanic Class 4).
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English you need to communicate effectively.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Computer and technical skills you’ll need to learn to work with both manual equipment and highly automated processes.
  • The ability to recognize, understand, analyze, and solve technical problems.
  • Comfort using Microsoft suite software and various computer functions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to meet physical demands:
  • Lift up to 25 kg
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Work in confined and enclosed spaces
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required, either at the end of a shift or outside the regular schedule.

  • DEP or CEC in chemical process techniques, DEC or CEC in instrumentation and control, DEP in industrial mechanics, DEP in electromechanics, or any relevant experience related to these fields.
  • Previous experience in a 24-7-365 industrial environment.
