WPF Duratec is currently seeking skilled Pipefitters, Boilermakers, and Welders for immediate starts at our Naval Base Workshop. This is hands-on work that demands real skill interpreting complex piping isometrics, fabricating to precise tolerances, and welding exotic materials. What You’ll Be Doing

For Pipefitters and Boilermakers:

  • Interpreting complex piping isometrics: You’ll read and understand flange tables with inclinations and offsets, angles, and rolling compound joints and offsets.
  • Working from fabrication drawings: You’ll fabricate components using the correct methods to allow for practical welding.
  • Planning work sequences: You’ll efficiently plan and execute work scopes in a workshop setting.
  • Fabricating to precise tolerances: You’ll meet laser survey specifications and hold tight tolerances.
  • Medium and Heavy Structural fabrication: You’ll work on substantial structural components.
  • Pre-setting and straightening metal: You’ll use your skills to set up and straighten metal components as needed.

For Welders (Structural and Piping):

  • Welding with various processes: You’ll work predominantly with GTAW and FCAW, but we encourage applications even if you’re proficient in only one or two processes.
  • Working with exotic materials: You’ll weld Carbon Steel, Stainless Steels (316, DSS, SDSS), Chromoly, Copper-Nickel, Inconel, and more, with good attention to detail to keep items straight and within tolerances.
  • Passing weld tests: You’ll be required to pass weld tests in the 6G position—experience with all exotics isn’t critical, but your skill level needs to be there.

What We’re Looking For

For All Roles:

  • Relevant Trade Certificate in your discipline.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass technical assessments and weld testing as part of pre-employment screening.

  • Able to read fabrication drawings and fabricate with welding practicality in mind.
  • Experience planning and executing work sequences efficiently.
  • Proficient in fabricating to precise tolerances and laser survey specs.
  • Experienced in Medium and Heavy Structural fabrication.
  • Skilled in pre-setting and straightening metal components.
  • Experience with FCAW welding process is preferred but not essential.

Specifically for Welders:

  • Extensive experience with various welding processes, predominantly GTAW and FCAW.
  • Proficient in welding exotic materials like Carbon Steel, Stainless Steels, Chromoly, Copper-Nickel, Inconel, etc.
  • Ability to pass weld tests in the 6G position.
  • Good attention to detail to keep items straight and within tolerances.
