Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed technical drawings and comprehensive layout plans using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment, ensuring all outputs strictly align with project specification provisions and engineering requirements
  • Maintain and regularly update the monthly master drawing list to ensure all document records remain accurate, traceable, and accessible to the wider project team
  • Review and critically analyze project specifications, preliminary sketches, engineering calculations, and interrelated technical data to evaluate all factors that could influence design decisions, procedures, and compliance guidelines
  • Draft precise, detailed scale plans for Civil and Structural (C and S) and Mechanical and Electrical (M and E) works based on engineering concepts, specification sheets, and approved design data
  • Apply mathematical computations and technical formulas to develop and finalize detailed specifications for systems and equipment using computer-assisted drafting tools
  • Identify design deficiencies or coordination conflicts and modify drawings accordingly to correct operating issues and ensure absolute clarity of design intent
  • Prepare and produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings that meet engineers’ requirements, project standards, and contractual obligations
  • Coordinate closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawing outputs support seamless on-site execution
  • Support additional technical and administrative duties as directed by senior engineering staff

Qualifications

What You Need to Qualify:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on working experience in a CAD drafting or structural drafting role within the construction or civil engineering industry
  • A Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred though strong practical experience will also be seriously considered
  • Demonstrated experience in design management, steel structure detailing, and design development workflows
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; working knowledge of Civil 3D and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software is a strong advantage

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data accurately
