We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional Maintenance Assistant to join our Engineering team. Your day-to-day will include basic repairs including painting, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and cabinetry, as well as assisting with the upkeep of the property and common areas, including pools, organising supplies, and completing weekly property checks. Base rate is $33.05 per hour plus penalties and loading.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs including but not limited to painting, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and cabinetry as required.
- Assist with the upkeep of the property and common areas, including pools.
- Organise supplies and materials needed for maintenance tasks.
- Complete weekly property checks in line with the preventative maintenance program.
- Follow work health and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation in all maintenance work.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure smooth operations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the overall guest experience through diligent upkeep of the property.
- Perform landscaping or gardening tasks as required (highly desirable).
Qualifications
- Relevant industry knowledge or a trade-related background required.
- Ability to complete repairs including painting, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and cabinetry.
- Landscaping or gardening experience highly desirable.
- Physical fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day and will need to bend and kneel frequently.
- Enthusiastic and professional team player with a focus on delivering great service.
- Ability to exceed guest expectations through quality workmanship.
- Reliability and punctuality essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to live and work on Hayman Island.
