Key Responsibilities
- Perform painting and trim work in residence halls and student apartments, ensuring high-quality finishes
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling cracks, and smoothing areas for painting
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Operate ladders and move objects up to 50 pounds as needed to complete tasks safely
- Adapt quickly to changing work assignments and tools while maintaining efficiency
- Work closely with Housing staff and team members to complete projects on schedule
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Support campus maintenance by reporting issues or areas needing additional attention
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency, or demonstrated possession of competencies necessary for the role
- Experience in related trade areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
- Ability to receive clear instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Safety-conscious mindset with an understanding of proper work procedures
- Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and ability to work full shifts from mid-May through early August
- Ability to climb and work from ladders and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn new processes or tools quickly
