Key Responsibilities

  • Control chemical processes and operate all related equipment using the distributed control system, following work instructions and product quality control plans.
  • Adjust controls to regulate variables as instructed, performing setup procedures to prepare systems for operation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the process to maintain required operating conditions, conducting in process quality control testing.
  • Perform minor maintenance on process and support equipment, entering work orders and requisitions into the business management system as needed.
  • Transfer and move materials in heavy containers, assisting in packaging product for shipment and in loading and unloading raw materials.
  • Participate in scheduled safety meetings and complete all required safety training.
  • Keep work areas safe and clean, supporting efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two to three years of chemical operation experience is essential.
  • Manual dexterity, accuracy, and strong attention to detail are critical.
  • General mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret complex operating instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of shop mathematics to read blueprints.
  • High level of safety awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with active listening abilities.
  • Capacity to cross train with other operating units and work collaboratively in a team based environment.
  • Organizational and record keeping skills, with basic computer proficiency.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and work schedules, including off shift hours.
  • Ability to lift heavy containers and use material handling equipment.
  • Ability to remain calm and react effectively in critical situations.
