Key Responsibilities
Your day will be varied and impactful, split between the open road and our busy yard. Your core tasks will include:
- Safely operating a Class 2 truck to deliver building supplies to construction sites and customers across the region, ensuring all deliveries are timely and professional.
- Providing outstanding support in the yard by accurately picking, packing, and assembling customer orders using our systems.
- Skillfully operating a forklift to load and unload delivery trucks and manage stock within the yard.
- Carrying out manual handling tasks when required, always adhering to strict health and safety best practices.
- Processing sales documentation efficiently and providing friendly, expert service to every customer, whether they’re on-site or you’re meeting them on a delivery.
- Being a reliable team player who helps maintain a safe, clean, and organised yard.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a capable and customer-focused individual who brings the right attitude and skills. You’ll need:
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence with a minimum Class 2 endorsement.
- A current Forklift Licence (an F endorsement would be a great advantage).
- A proven commitment to safety, with a solid awareness of health and safety legislation in a similar industry.
- Strong communication skills and a natural talent for building rapport—you’re a true people person.
- The physical fitness to handle occasional heavy lifting and manual work.
- Basic computer skills for processing orders and documentation.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of teamwork. Previous experience in the building industry is helpful, but a great work ethic is essential.
