Key Responsibilities
As a Long Haul Driver, you will be entrusted with the safe transport of valuable cargo across significant distances. Your key duties will ensure every trip is a success:
- Safely operating commercial vehicles over long-haul routes, strictly adhering to all traffic laws, hours-of-service regulations, and company safety policies.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is always in road-ready and compliant condition.
- Managing the secure loading and unloading of flatbed freight, which includes proper tarping, strapping, and the safe operation of a forklift when necessary.
- Maintaining meticulous and accurate records of your trips, including driver logs, delivery documentation, fuel usage, and any incidents.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with dispatch and customers regarding schedules, updates, and any delivery concerns.
- Performing basic on-the-road vehicle repairs and maintenance to address minor issues and ensure a smooth journey.
Qualifications
This role requires specific experience and a professional attitude. To be considered, you must have:
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- A minimum of three years of verifiable experience in flatbed driving and operations. This specific experience is a firm requirement.
- Strong familiarity with freight securement procedures, tarping, and regulations specific to flatbed transport.
- The ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining a sharp focus on safety and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Basic automotive repair knowledge and forklift operation skills are valuable assets for this role.
