Key Responsibilities
You’ll be the essential support that keeps our bakery humming. Working alongside our Head Baker and front-of-house team, your days will include:
- Assisting with the full preparation process: kneading, shaping, and molding doughs and pastries with care and attention to detail.
- Monitoring oven and prover temperatures closely, ensuring every batch of bread and pastries is baked to perfection.
- Coordinating the seamless flow of baking from forming and loading batches to unloading, cooling, and preparing goods for sale.
- Maintaining an impeccably clean, safe, and organized workspace, adhering to the highest standards of food hygiene.
- Supporting daily operations which may include local deliveries or pickups, contributing to the smooth rhythm of our small business.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a team member who brings both skill and spirit to our bakery bench.
Your Experience And Skills:
- Hands-on experience as a pastry or bakery assistant, confident with techniques like kneading, mixing, and shaping. Experience with sourdough is a huge plus!
- A solid, practical understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Strong innate organizational and time-management skills you thrive on keeping things running smoothly.
- The ability to work both autonomously on tasks and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
- A current driver’s licence is preferred for the occasional local run.
