Key Responsibilities
As a MIG Welder at Clemco, you will be a key player in our manufacturing process. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Fitting and welding fabricated light-gauge metal parts (16 gauge to 1/4 inch) to create standard and custom products, ensuring all work meets precise engineering tolerances.
- Independently setting up and adjusting welding equipment, applying expert knowledge of welding procedures, including electrode selection, current, voltage, and travel speed.
- Accurately reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints to plan and execute your work.
- Participating in quality and process improvement initiatives, using tools like Root Cause Analysis to help enhance our products and operations.
- Safely operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes as required for the job.
- Maintaining a proactive focus on safety and quality in every task you perform.
Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified professional who meets the following criteria:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on MIG welding experience in a production or fabrication setting, specifically with light gauge metals.
- Must have strong, proven skills in reading and interpreting detailed engineering blueprints.
- The ability and willingness to pass an ASME welding certification within an agreed timeframe is required. Must be skilled in using precision measuring instruments and applying math (fractions, decimals) in a practical setting.
- Must be safety-conscious and experienced in the safe operation of forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Candidates selected for an interview must complete a hands-on weld test to demonstrate their technical and blueprint interpretation abilities.
