Key Responsibilities

As a Container Repair Technician, you will manage the complete repair process for our waste containers. Your key duties will include:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of garbage containers to identify structural damage, mechanical failures, and corrosion using diagnostic tools.
  • Performing skilled welding (MIG, Stick), cutting, and fabrication to repair cracks, holes, and structural damage on steel and plastic containers.
  • Repairing or replacing mechanical parts like hinges, lids, wheels, and latches. Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems on specialized containers.
  • Ensuring all repaired containers meet strict safety regulations, municipal standards, and internal quality benchmarks before they return to service.
  • Maintaining accurate repair logs and documentation for each unit. Keeping tools and shop equipment organized and in good working order.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable and physically capable technician with the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Container Repair Technician or in a closely related field involving heavy equipment or metal fabrication repair.
  • Must be proficient in welding and fabrication techniques (MIG-Stick). Familiarity with hydraulic system maintenance is a strong advantage.
  • Must be able to perform light to heavy lifting (50-100 pounds) regularly in a shop-warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of shop safety protocols and a keen attention to detail. The ability to multi-task, work effectively in a fast-paced setting, and collaborate with a team is essential.
  •  A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical certifications in welding or a related trade are a significant plus.
