Key Responsibilities
As a Driver for WM, you will be the face of our service in the community. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating a waste collection vehicle and its onboard equipment to complete daily routes on time.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service during collections, representing WM’s values positively.
- Performing thorough pre-start and post-trip vehicle safety checks to ensure mechanical fitness and roadworthiness.
- Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately for each shift.
- Assisting with collections as needed, which may involve some physical handling of bins and materials.
- Upholding our unwavering commitment to health and safety, following all procedures to ensure you and your colleagues get home safely every day.
Qualifications
We are looking for a team player with the right attitude and credentials. The ideal candidate will have:
- A current, clean New Zealand Class 2 driver’s license.
- Previous relevant driving experience, preferably in a similar industry.
- A reasonable level of fitness to manage the physical aspects of the role.
- A strong customer focus, a reliable and positive work ethic, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (hold citizenship, residency, or a valid work visa).
