Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering critical services with professionalism and care. Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting detailed interviews and gathering information to accurately assess client eligibility for income assistance, disability assistance, and related supports.
  • Managing a high-volume caseload by effectively organizing workload, setting priorities, and meeting established performance targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Providing clear, compassionate, and timely communication to clients, explaining decisions and guiding them through processes, often during difficult or crisis situations.
  • Delivering services through multiple channels, including in-person at community offices, over the phone, or via virtual technologies.
  • Maintaining precise and confidential client records using various computer applications and case management systems.
  • Applying a trauma-informed and client-centered approach when working with individuals experiencing poverty, mental health challenges, or substance use.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who bring both skill and heart to this important work. Essential requirements include:

  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent (such as a GED).
  • A minimum of one year of experience delivering high-standard client service in a busy, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.
  • At least one year of experience working with standard computer applications like MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Direct experience providing services to clients facing poverty, substance use, or mental health issues.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Additional experience in community-based or social service roles, such as shelter work, outreach, or harm reduction, primarily supporting vulnerable populations.
