Key Responsibilities
You will be integral to both our crop and livestock operations. Your core duties will include:
- Operating tractors and balers to harvest and bale hay, ensuring a steady supply of feed for the cattle herd.
- Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on farm equipment, trucks, and trailers to ensure operational readiness.
- Providing daily care for the cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and well-being.
- Safely transporting cattle around the farm property and to nearby processing facilities using tractors and livestock trailers as required.
- Adapting your schedule to meet the demands of the season and weather, which may include early starts, late finishes, and weekend work.
Qualifications
We are looking for a self-reliant and experienced candidate who meets the following criteria:
- Proven experience operating and maintaining tractors, balers, and other farm machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Hands-on experience with cattle handling, feeding, and general livestock care.
- The ability to work a demanding schedule, typically Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility for nights and Sundays as needed.
- Physical stamina, reliability, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential.
