About the Role And Our Community

This position is at the heart of our resident-centered care approach. You will be an essential part of a team dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and engaging living environment for our seniors. We offer a full-time schedule with comprehensive on-the-job training for the right candidate.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your day will be focused on providing attentive, person-centered support to assist both residents and the care team. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting Resident Care Workers (RCWs) with personalized, non-medical resident care and daily living activities.
  • Conducting regular temperature checks and health monitoring of residents as directed.
  • Safely and respectfully transporting residents to various areas within the residence, such as dining rooms, activity areas, or common lounges.
  • Recording and tracking resident temperatures during meal services in the dining hall.
  • Providing friendly companionship and engaging in respectful conversation with residents.
  • Observing and reporting any changes in a resident’s condition or well-being to the supervising RCW or nurse.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment in resident areas.

The most important qualification for this role is a genuine desire to care for seniors. We are looking for someone with:

  • A naturally caring, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with respect for privacy and dignity.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • The physical ability to assist with mobility and light duties (e.g., pushing wheelchairs).
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed (Monday-Sunday, hours will vary).
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Previous experience in a retirement home, long-term care, or a similar supportive role is an asset but not required, as training will be provided.
