This is more than a farming role; it is an opportunity to contribute to the prosperity of a visionary Ahu Whenua Trust and its people, while building a meaningful career rooted in excellence and sustainability. If you are motivated, reliable, and ready to grow with us, we welcome your application.

About Us

Tūaropaki Trust is a progressive Ahu Whenua Trust, kaitiaki of ancestral taonga and a diverse portfolio in the food and energy sectors. With over 2,700 Owners, our mission is to nurture and grow our assets for future generations, guided by our values of Whakapono (belief), Kia Ū (commitment), and Kia Manawanui (courage and foresight). Joining our dairy team means becoming part of a whānau that is deeply connected to the whenua and driven by a long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on role, you will be key to the daily success and smooth running of our dairy operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing milking duties across our rotary and herringbone sheds with a consistent focus on premium milk quality and animal comfort.
  • Actively supporting animal health programmes and upholding the highest standards of animal welfare.
  • Assisting with stock movement, calf rearing, and general animal husbandry tasks.
  • Operating farm vehicles and equipment such as side-by-sides and motorbikes.
  • Contributing to property and equipment maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-presented farm.
  • Maintaining accurate records for animal health, milk quality, and daily operations.
  • Being a proactive, safety-focused team member who upholds our collective well-being and operational goals.

What You Will Bring

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to the land and our values. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine motivation to build a career in dairying.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team player.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Sound stock handling skills and resilience for the physical demands and early starts of farm life.
  • A current driver’s licence; basic computer literacy for record-keeping is advantageous.
  • A proactive mindset, a good sense of humour, and pride in a job well done.

Previous dairy experience is beneficial, but a fantastic attitude and eagerness to learn are most important.
