Key Responsibilities
As our Baker Helper, you will be involved in all the essential tasks that keep our bakery running smoothly from the early hours onward. Your day will be active and varied, with key duties including:
- Preparing our bakers’ workstations by gathering and measuring out ingredients like flour, yeast, and sugars according to specific recipes.
- Assisting with basic food preparation, such as washing fruits, cutting fillings, and helping to shape dough for various breads and rolls.
- Taking care of our kitchen by thoroughly cleaning all work surfaces, mixing equipment, utensils, and baking pans to meet strict health and safety standards.
- Packaging finished products for our display cases and helping to manage our inventory of supplies and ingredients.
- Supporting the team with receiving deliveries and safely storing heavy items, such as bags of flour and sugar.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. The most important ingredients you bring are your work ethic and team spirit.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial, but a strong willingness to learn on the job is what we value most.
- The physical ability to stand for extended periods, safely lift items up to 25 pounds (approximately 11 kilograms), and work in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- An excellent attention to detail and the ability to carefully follow instructions from our lead bakers.
- A reliable and punctual nature, with the flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed in a bakery schedule.
- A current food handler’s certificate or the willingness to obtain one promptly is a required advantage.
