Key Responsibilities
In this essential support role, you will work closely with our care team to ensure residents receive attentive and respectful assistance. Your key duties will include:
- Assisting Resident Care Workers (RCWs) with personalized, non-medical care for residents as directed.
- Conducting and recording regular temperature checks for residents, particularly when they utilize the dining hall for meals.
- Assisting with safely transporting residents in wheelchairs or with walking aids to various areas of the residence, such as dining rooms, activity areas, or common lounges.
- Working as a supportive member of the care team, communicating effectively about resident needs and well-being.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate whose personal qualities align with the heart of care work. The essentials for this role are:
- A naturally caring, compassionate, and patient demeanor is the most important qualification. You must have a genuine desire to work with and support the elderly.
- Must be available to work a varied schedule that includes weekends (Monday-Sunday) as required in a 24-7 care environment.
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions carefully and work cooperatively within a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The employer cannot sponsor work authorization for this position.
