Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Support Services Manager, you’ll perform a variety of cleaning and laundry duties to support the home’s operations.
Housekeeping Duties:
- Perform general cleaning tasks throughout the home, including Residents’ rooms, bathrooms, staff rooms, offices, and other assigned areas.
- Ensure all cleaning is completed to high standards, contributing to a safe and pleasant environment.
- Follow infection prevention and control guidelines in all cleaning procedures.
Laundry Duties (as assigned):
- Collect, sort, and launder Resident clothing and site linens according to established procedures.
- Return clean laundry to the appropriate sources, ensuring items are properly folded and organized.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and correctly, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control guidelines throughout the laundry process.
General Responsibilities:
- Treat all Residents with dignity and respect in every interaction.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Resident safety and the organization’s “culture of safety.”
- Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to support the overall mission of the home.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing quality service in a residential care setting.
Essential Qualities:
- Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Respectful and compassionate approach when interacting with Residents.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and laundry tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting as required.
Preferred (But Not Essential):
- Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services, preferably in a healthcare or residential setting.
- Familiarity with infection prevention and control guidelines.
