Key Responsibilities
- Prepare healthy and delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, following nutritional guidelines and food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and smoothly running kitchen, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly managed.
- Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of all food items.
- Collaborate with the team to accommodate dietary restrictions and special needs of children.
- Spend time in the classroom supporting teachers and engaging with children, building meaningful connections and contributing to a positive learning environment.
- Assist with classroom activities as needed, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere for all children.
- Follow all state regulations and center policies regarding food service and child care.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One or more years of food preparation experience is preferred. ServSafe Food Handler certification is preferred. Child and Adult Food Care Program experience is preferred. The ability to work within regular operating hours is required. Candidates must meet state criteria for child care employment. A passion for nutrition, food safety, and working with children is essential.
