Key Responsibilities
- Develop career pathways for participants using SMART goal setting, ensuring plans are realistic, achievable, and tailored to individual needs.
- Connect participants with training, support services, and community resources to help them overcome barriers to employment.
- Guide participants through resume writing, cover letter preparation, interview techniques, and job applications, building their confidence and skills.
- Provide financial support through the Employment Fund when eligible, ensuring participants have access to resources that assist their journey.
- Coach, motivate, and empower participants to achieve their employment goals, celebrating successes and supporting them through challenges.
- Manage a caseload of participants, scheduling appointments, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.
- Build strong relationships with participants, employers, and community partners to support sustainable employment outcomes.
Qualifications
No formal employment services experience is required. Candidates must have resilience, the ability to stay positive and persistent while supporting participants through challenging situations. Empathy and compassion are essential, with a genuine care for helping people achieve their goals. Strong communication and coaching skills are required, including the ability to listen, motivate, and guide participants effectively. Strong people skills, including confidence in guiding conversations, resolving issues calmly, and helping participants stay on track, are essential. Problem solving and creativity are important for finding practical solutions and linking participants to the right resources. Organisation and time management skills are required to manage caseloads, schedule appointments, and track progress.
Benefits and Perks
This full time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from AUD 65,000 to AUD 75,000 depending on experience. Salary packaging up to AUD 15,900 is available, plus tax free entertainment benefits.
