Key Responsibilities
You will be the trusted link for timely deliveries. Your core duties will include:
- Safely and efficiently collecting and delivering parcels, documents, and mail across designated routes in Canterbury.
- Maintaining accurate electronic or paper logs for all pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring complete tracking.
- Handling all items with care, adhering to specific handling instructions, and following all safety protocols.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with dispatch team members and customers regarding delivery status or inquiries.
- Conducting basic vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance needs or incidents promptly.
- Upholding a professional appearance and courteous demeanor, positively representing the company at every stop.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence and a clean, responsible driving record.
- The physical capability to safely lift, carry, and load packages weighing up to 20kg.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills to complete routes efficiently.
- A reliable, self-motivated work ethic with the ability to operate effectively without direct supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude for positive customer interactions.
- While previous courier or delivery experience is advantageous, a strong commitment to reliability is most important.
