Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our driving team, you will be entrusted with the following duties:
- Safely operating a commercial vehicle to transport goods across the Canada-U.S. border, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Preparing and managing all required cross-border documentation, including customs paperwork and shipping manifests.
- Strictly adhering to all Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations, including hours of service (HOS), weight limits, and safety standards.
- Maintaining clear and professional communication with dispatch and clients regarding schedules, routes, and any delivery updates.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and performing basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of cargo as needed.
- Keeping accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and vehicle conditions using required systems.
- Following established protocols for border crossings and customs declarations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this essential role will possess:
- A valid Class AZ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- A minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience; prior cross-border experience is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations and customs procedures.
- A clean driving record (CVOR and Abstract) with no serious violations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with excellent time management.
- The physical capability to handle freight and perform vehicle inspections.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by delivery schedules.
