Key Responsibilities
In this independent overnight role, you will be the vital link in getting the news to our readers. Your core task will be:
- Safely and accurately delivering the NZ Herald and magazines to subscriber mailboxes across the Whangaparaoa and Orewa regions.
- Starting your shift at 12:30 AM and maintaining a steady, efficient pace to complete your route.
- Working independently while adhering strictly to delivery schedules and instructions.
- Performing your duties responsibly in all weather conditions.
- Managing your workload and route effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
We are looking for dependable individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Must hold a current, full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence.
- Access to a reliable, legally roadworthy car with current WOF and registration.
- The ability to work unsupervised, demonstrating strong personal initiative and time management.
- Physical capability to work outside overnight in various weather conditions.
- A successful Ministry of Justice check will be required, though no pre-employment drug test is needed.
- While some delivery or overnight work experience is beneficial, a positive attitude and commitment to reliability are most important. Full training is provided.

- A guaranteed 32 hours per week on a seven-day rotating overnight roster.
- An hourly rate between $25.00 and $27.00, based on experience.
