Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be the cornerstone of our school’s outdoor presentation and operational support. Your key duties will be varied and essential:
- Â Undertake all gardening and landscaping duties across our campuses. This includes maintaining lawns and garden beds through weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, and watering. You will support new planting projects and help keep our pathways clear and clean.
- Conduct daily walks to proactively identify and report any maintenance issues, graffiti, or security concerns. You will assist with setting up and packing down for school events and help move furniture safely as needed.
- student and staff toilets to ensure they are always well-stocked with essentials like soap and toilet paper.
- Operate all tools and equipment, such as blower-vacs, safely and in accordance with instructions. You will always use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work to minimise disruption to classrooms.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and proactive individual who shares our commitment to creating a great environment for children. You will need:
- Demonstrated Skills:Â Proven experience in grounds and garden maintenance, including pruning, planting, irrigation, and the safe use of tools and equipment.
- Working with Children:Â A professional and respectful manner when working around students, with a clear understanding of child safety standards and appropriate boundaries in a school setting.
- Â The ability to communicate effectively with staff and students and to work cooperatively as part of our school team.
- Â Strong organisational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage both routine and seasonal tasks with initiative.
- Aptitude for the Role:Â This position is open to individuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements. A formal horticultural qualification is beneficial but not mandatory if you have strong practical experience.
