Key Responsibilities
Your primary focus will be on precision grinding and component fabrication, with duties including:
- Performing precision finish grinding on steel components for plastic injection molds to achieve exact specifications.
- Processing tungsten steel materials, including forming and grinding, for durable stamping die components.
- Accurately reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and blueprints to guide your work.
- Utilizing your knowledge of AutoCAD to understand design intent and, if needed, reference or create basic technical sketches.
- Maintaining all grinding and workshop equipment, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Conducting thorough quality checks on your own work to ensure all parts meet stringent dimensional and surface finish requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in precision machining and toolmaking:
- Proven hands-on experience in precision grinding, specifically with steel (for molds) and tungsten steel (for dies).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings is a must. Familiarity with AutoCAD for viewing and understanding technical designs is required.
- A solid understanding of metallurgy and material properties related to tool steels and tungsten carbide.
- A meticulous attention to detail, patience, and a commitment to producing work of the highest quality and accuracy.
- A vocational training certificate in machining, tool & die making, or a related field is preferred. Relevant years of experience will also be strongly considered.
