Core Work Activities
Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets:
- Ensure knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations are up to date.
- Oversee all lost and found procedures, ensuring items are properly logged and stored.
- Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs to prepare work assignments.
- Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies are available for daily operations.
- Communicate guest room status to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work effectively with the Engineering department on guest room maintenance needs.
- Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Verify all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Assist in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
- Manage linen inventory and guest supplies, assisting in ordering as necessary.
- Supervise Housekeeping and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
- Observe service behaviors of employees and provide constructive feedback, continuously striving to improve service performance.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service:
- Handle guest problems and complaints professionally, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary.
- Assist in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Set a positive example for guest relations in all interactions.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; 1 year experience in housekeeping or a related professional area.
- OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.
Required Skills and Qualities:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of budgeting and financial goals.
- Knowledge of safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Experience with inspection programs and quality control.
- A warm, guest-focused attitude and the ability to handle complaints with professionalism.
- Fluency in English; Japanese language skills are highly valued for this location.
