Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Tech II, you will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance that keeps our operations running smoothly. Your key duties will include:
- Training for and performing heavy-duty maintenance tasks, including crusher steel changes and complex equipment overhauls.
- Executing belting, welding, fabrication, and the oiling/lubrication of mechanical equipment.
- Repairing and replacing critical components such as bearings, bushings, seals, gearboxes, pumps, and drive systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and valves.
- Safely operating forklifts and other Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) to move materials and equipment.
- Performing Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance on production and facility equipment following established procedures.
- Accurately completing shop records and using maintenance reporting systems.
- Adhering to all corporate safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one (1) year of hands-on mechanical experience.
- The ability to pass the Tech I & Tech II training program tests within six (6) months of your start date.
- Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, holidays, all shifts, and provide short-notice coverage as needed.
- The ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts and other PIVs.
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship (e.g., H1B status).
Additional qualifications that will make you stand out:
- A two-year technical degree from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) or more years of mechanical experience in an industrial, military, or government environment.
- Experience with heavy equipment/vehicle repair, or in a mine, quarry, or cement plant.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, basic machining, and using precision measuring tools.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment and handling hazardous waste materials.
