We are now hiring a Laundry Attendant and Cleaner to join our team at our Mooloolaba childcare centre. This position is Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm daily. In this role, you will wash, dry, and fold children’s sheets and equipment, sort laundry by colour shades and materials, follow correct hygiene procedures, and attend to soiled items as required. Key Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, and fold children’s sheets and equipment according to centre procedures.
- Sort laundry by colour shades and materials to ensure proper care.
- Follow correct hygiene procedures, especially when attending to soiled items.
- Implement stain removal procedures to remove stains when needed.
- Maintain and update records of laundry belongings.
- Maintain a tidy laundry area and inventory of linens and cleaning products.
- Keep the area tidy, including wiping washing machines, dryers, and sinks.
- Rinse laundry baskets and sweep floors regularly.
- Complete various cleaning tasks as instructed on a daily basis.
- Work independently and efficiently to provide excellent laundry service to the centre.
- Communicate effectively with team members as needed.
- Follow all health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience and exceptional knowledge of laundry procedures and various laundry techniques required.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
- Reliability and punctuality essential.
- Current blue card/working with children check or willingness to obtain one at your own expense.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the team.
- Physical ability to perform laundry and cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
