Key Responsibilities
Your core mission will be to ensure the integrity of ultra-high-purity (UHP) systems through expert welding and rigorous quality control. Your daily responsibilities include:
- Performing precision orbital welding on stainless steel tubing for critical UHP gas distribution systems within semiconductor fabrication facilities.
- Setting up, calibrating, and operating specialized orbital welding equipment from leading manufacturers like AMI, Swagelok, and Polysoude.
- Accurately reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, P and IDs, and isometric diagrams to determine project specifications.
- Executing meticulous purge gas setups to maintain an optimal shielding atmosphere, ensuring zero contamination and perfect weld integrity.
- Conducting thorough visual and procedural inspections of all welds in accordance with strict industry standards to guarantee defect-free results.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate welding logs, along with all necessary QA-QC documentation for traceability and compliance.
- Collaborating closely with engineering and project management teams to adhere to tight fabrication and installation schedules.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with an unwavering focus on quality and detail. The required qualifications are:
- Proven, hands-on experience in orbital welding, specifically on stainless steel tubing for UHP or high-purity applications.
- Certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating orbital welding equipment (AMI, Swagelok, or equivalent).
- The ability to accurately read and work from P&IDs, isometric drawings, and other technical engineering documents.
- A deep understanding of purge procedures and contamination control critical to semiconductor-grade welding.
- Experience with strict QA-QC documentation practices and maintaining detailed weld logs.
- A strong commitment to following safety procedures and cleanroom protocols without exception.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; additional technical certifications in welding are highly preferred.
