Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing our procurement lifecycle, ensuring we secure the best value and quality. Your key duties will include:
- Purchasing general and specialized aviation equipment, materials, and business services.
- Negotiating competitive terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers.
- Consulting with suppliers to stay informed on market trends, product availability, and new opportunities.
- Proactively contacting clients and suppliers to resolve any order discrepancies, delivery issues, or service problems.
- Conducting internal audits of procurement processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records and building strong, professional relationships with key vendors and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation of experience and expertise:
- A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required; further education in business, supply chain, or a related field is an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, with a specialization in the aviation sector being essential.
- Proven expertise in negotiating with suppliers and managing complex procurement projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada and meet the language requirements of the role.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to own transportation are required, though public transit is available. A clear criminal record check is mandatory.
