Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily activities and performance of the production technician team, ensuring all tasks are completed to quality and productivity standards.
- Determine daily staffing and work schedules for technicians to meet production demands.
- Set goals and objectives for technicians, routinely reviewing performance metrics including quality, productivity, lead time, and cost, and directing areas for continuous improvement.
- Provide performance feedback to team members and suggest remediation when performance issues arise.
- Spend a portion of time performing the duties of technicians to maintain process, technology, and systems expertise, ensuring proficiency and ability to coach and train others.
- Apply and enforce established guidelines and working procedures for the corresponding operation, suggesting changes and enhancements as needed.
- Train, coach, and mentor technicians to improve their capability to perform all required duties.
- Support projects and improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure good operating condition and proper use of assets under responsibility.
- Ensure occupational safety and health of employees in charge, reporting any unsafe conditions to supervisors or human resources.
- Participate proactively in problem solving and team efforts to fulfill objectives.
- Foster a positive working environment and promote teamwork within the team.
- Develop reports to follow up on required metrics and perform other duties as assigned.
- Direct the team in terms of discipline, order, and compliance with treatment protocols and company policies.
Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated management and understanding of manufacturing execution systems or similar tracking tools. Familiarity with the Windows environment is required. The ability to learn software applications including 3D imaging is essential. Strong leadership skills are required to interact effectively at all levels of the organization including peers, customers, managers, technicians, and functional teams. Candidates must show interest in their own development and the development of others to improve performance. A results and team oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure to achieve goals is essential. Agility to solve problems and create innovative solutions is required. Business understanding of metrics, key performance indicators, systems, and processes is essential. Learning agility to improve own development and others is important. Experience using basic applied statistics and proficiency with Excel to produce reports and analysis are required. Understanding of project management tools is preferred.
