Key Responsibilities
As the face of RDO in the field, you will be crucial to our customers’ success. Your key duties will include:
- Performing expert diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse range of John Deere equipment directly at customer sites.
- Providing proactive, professional advice and technical support to help customers maximise machine uptime and performance.
- Accurately documenting all work performed, including parts usage and service time, via our systems.
- Travelling to various sites with flexibility, adapting efficiently to changing schedules and urgent customer needs.
- Upholding the highest standards of workshop and on-site safety, actively contributing to our culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborating closely with the parts and workshop teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
We are looking for a technician who combines technical mastery with outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will have:
- A trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic, or equivalent. (Light Vehicle Mechanics eager to move into heavy equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.)
- Solid, hands-on experience in diagnostics and repairs; field service experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, solutions-focused attitude with customers.
- A deep commitment to safety and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset.
- Experience with agricultural or heavy equipment is beneficial, but comprehensive product and systems training will be provided.
