Key Responsibilities
As a Fire Suppression Service Technician, you will ensure our clients’ systems are operational and compliant. Your key duties will include:
- Conducting thorough inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on fire suppression systems, including kitchen hood and special hazard systems, in strict accordance with NFPA 17, NFPA 96, and other applicable codes.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues such as leaks, pressure problems, or component failures, and performing necessary repairs or replacements.
- Testing, recharging, and handling agent cylinders, including coordinating hydrostatic testing.
- Documenting all service activities accurately in the Service Trade operations platform and providing detailed reports for clients and internal teams.
- Responding promptly to emergency service calls to diagnose problems and restore system functionality.
- Interacting professionally with clients to schedule visits, discuss findings, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Qualifications
We are looking for a skilled technician with a solid foundation in fire protection. The ideal candidate will have:
- Directly related work experience in fire suppression. Strong knowledge of NFPA 17 and other relevant codes is essential. Manufacturer certifications (ANSUL, Amerex, Badger, Buckeye) are a significant advantage.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, pipe threading machines, and diagnostic equipment.
- Physical & Safety Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces (using fall protection), and stand-walk-bend for extended periods in various environments (industrial, commercial, outdoor).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
