Key Responsibilities
You and your driving partner will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of freight across the border. Your core duties will include:
- Safely operating a Class -AZ tractor-trailer as part of a coordinated two-person team.
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections meticulously to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Adhering to all Canadian and US transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and cross-border documentation requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic logs throughout your run.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with our supportive dispatch team to provide updates and receive instructions.
- Ensuring the secure loading, transit, and unloading of cargo.
Qualifications
To join our cross-border team, you will need to meet the following requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- A valid Class 1 or AZ driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
- A minimum of 6 months of recent, verifiable professional truck driving experience.
- Legal eligibility to cross the US-Canada border without restriction.
- A strong safety mindset and a good driving record.
- The ability to work seamlessly in a team environment, demonstrating reliability and clear communication with your co-driver.
Preferred Attributes:
- Prior experience with cross-border shipping procedures and documentation.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and fleet management tools.
- A professional and customer-focused attitude in all interactions.
