Key Responsibilities
You will be an integral part of the research support team, with duties focused on operational excellence and animal care:
- Provide daily animal husbandry services, including cage changing, feeding, and maintaining optimal living conditions for research animals.
- Conduct detailed health and welfare checks on animals, monitoring their wellbeing and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Support the maintenance and safe operation of specialized facility equipment and environmental systems.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and organizing laboratory consumables and supplies.
- Perform other assigned duties to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the LARU facility.
- Fulfill scheduled shift duties, including rotations on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified and responsible candidate with the following credentials:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Science, or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on work experience in an animal-related environment, such as a research facility, veterinary clinic, or zoological institution.
- A strong sense of responsibility, impeccable attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to high standards of animal welfare.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team of researchers and technical staff.
- Candidates with more substantial experience will be considered for appointment at the Technical Officer level.
