Key Responsibilities

  • Export Documentation: Prepare commercial invoices and shipper’s letters of instruction for all export shipments, including IFE processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Freight Coordination: Arrange pickups with assigned freight forwarders and coordinate with customs brokers and the FDA for traceability of import and export shipments.
  • Freight Quotes: Provide freight quotes for customers for both parcel and non parcel shipments as requested.
  • Shipment Processing: Process shipments through FedEx, DHL, UPS, and Express Mail, requesting FedEx SEDs when appropriate.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed monthly reports of activity with international carriers and customers, updating reports as needs arise.
  • Data Entry: Perform data entry activities accurately across multiple systems including JDE, MFG Pro, and High Jump WMS.
  • Order Management: Print, pick, and bill MFG Pro orders, pick and pack High Jump orders, and batch and wave work to the floor using wave planning software.
  • Issue Resolution: Correct and resubmit failed orders in JDE, and enter new items with pick locations in High Jump.
  • Cross Functional Communication: Interact via phone and email with Customer Service, Distribution, Supply Chain, Global Freight, and other company personnel as needed.
  • Cross Training: Participate in cross training for other clerical and operational duties within the International department as required.
  • Compliance: Enforce all established policies, work instructions, and SOPs, following Good Documentation Practices as outlined.
  • Safety: Maintain safe working conditions by adhering to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Work a flexible schedule and daily overtime as required, with regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, GED, or one year of relevant equivalent experience required.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate keyboarding skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot routine to complex problems.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize daily assignments.
  • Self starter with initiative to complete daily assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform in a metrics driven environment.
  • Team player willing to move functions and assist in other GDC operations as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of previous international transportation or distribution experience preferred.
  • Experience with High Jump, JDE, and MFG Pro desired.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the GDC QMS.

  • Must communicate well between multiple departments and organizational levels across the company.
  • Ability to communicate across regions and effectively manage language barriers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to solve routine to complex problems and interpret instructions in written and oral form.
  • Ability to adapt to and manage shifting priorities.
  • High sense of judgment to make appropriate recommendations and decisions.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly exposed to walking, standing, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, and using hands to pick, type, grasp, and twist.
  • Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers may occur.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, climb, kneel, balance, twist, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Located on the warehouse floor, regularly subject to extreme weather conditions hot in summer with no air conditioning, cold in winter with very limited heating.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Noise level is moderate.
  • Usual tasks do not involve exposure to blood or body fluids, but some tasks could potentially involve such exposure.
