We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to steer our small but vital team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be directly responsible for the smooth flow of goods from the moment they arrive to the point they’re dispatched, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency every step of the way. If you’re a natural leader who thrives on process and team success, this is your opportunity to build something great with us.
Company Overview
We are a growing player in the building materials sector, specialising in quality doors and architectural products. Our reputation is built on reliable supply and exceptional customer service, and our warehouse is the operational heart that makes it all possible. We believe in empowering our team leaders with the autonomy to manage their areas effectively, fostering a culture of responsibility, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be the key point of coordination for our daily warehouse operations, with a wide range of duties that include:
- Leading, training, and supervising a team of two warehouse staff, assigning daily tasks and managing workflow to meet dispatch deadlines.
- Overseeing all inventory management, from receiving and storing goods to processing dispatches and conducting regular stocktakes to maintain accuracy.
- Managing the entire lifecycle of returned items, inspecting their condition, updating inventory records, and communicating updates to the team.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all company policies and WHS standards, maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Coordinating logistics, including organising incoming/outgoing deliveries and liaising with freight partners to ensure timely customer fulfillment.
- Taking charge of container coordination—booking, tracking, and de-hiring containers to optimise schedules and avoid detention charges.
- Performing quality control checks on goods and overseeing the preparation of accurate dispatch documentation.
- Monitoring team and process performance, identifying areas for improvement, and providing regular operational reports to management.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a practical blend of experience and personal drive. We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team lead position.
- A current forklift licence and the demonstrated ability to operate machinery safely.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (experience with Zoho or Shopify is a strong advantage).
- The physical capability to safely perform manual handling tasks, including lifting items up to 25kg, and to be on your feet for most of the day.
- Excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a small team effectively, fostering a cooperative and efficient work environment.
Benefits and Perks
We value our team leaders and offer a package that supports your professional growth and well-being:
- A competitive hourly rate between $27.00 and $33.00.
- The opportunity to truly own your role and make a direct impact on our operational success.
- A supportive management team that encourages initiative and professional development.
- A modern, organised workspace with the tools needed to perform your job effectively.
