We are looking for a Skilled Welder to join our team for night shift operations. In this role, you will perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal assembly tasks while following technical blueprints and ensuring high-quality output. Key Responsibilities
- Grind or chip excess weld, slag, or spatter using hand tools, grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
- Position workpieces and clamps or assemble components using jigs or fixtures.
- Preheat workpieces with hand torches or heating furnaces.
- Ignite torches or power supply and strike arcs as needed.
- Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders before welding or cutting.
- Select and insert electrodes or gas nozzles, connect hoses and cables to achieve proper gas flow and welding parameters.
- Adjust regulator valves to control gas flow and pressure for desired flame.
- Install torch, torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to specifications.
- Guide electrodes or torches along weld lines at proper speed and angles.
- Perform welding using brazing, gas, or arc welding equipment.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, or increase metal component sizes using welding tools.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions as required.
- Clean and degrease parts using wire brushes, grinders, or chemical baths.
- Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
- Measure and cut materials according to project requirements.
- Source and prepare materials for assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding, cutting, and metal fabrication.
- Skilled in brazing, gas welding, arc welding, and general metalwork.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical layouts.
- Physically fit and able to work night shifts and on public holidays.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and procedures.
