About the Role
As a Welder with TRUMPF, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality assemblies and products. You’ll perform various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, spot welding, and robot welding, working with a range of materials. You’ll set up your own work according to weld drawings and routings, and use hand grinders to finish parts as needed. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards. You’ll also participate in 5S and TPM activities to keep the shop, tools, and equipment in top condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hand welding operations in all positions for mechanical strength on standardized assemblies and products.
- Perform various types of welding: MIG, TIG, spot welding, and robot welding with various materials.
- Grind parts as suggested by routing and drawings.
- Set up own work and weld accordingly to weld drawings and routings.
- Stay up to date with changes to the process by reading the routings for each job order.
- Operate welding machines, spot welders, and welding robots for proper fusion of metals.
- Use hand grinders as required.
- Read and understand blueprints and written specifications, including metric measurements.
- Maintain shop, tools, and other welding equipment by performing 5S and TPM activities.
- Maintain high standards of quality, ensuring that parts passed on to subsequent work centers are good.
- Take responsibility for the quality of parts and work performed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prior welding experience is required.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and written specifications, including metric measurements.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, spot welding, and robot welding.
- Experience using hand grinders.
- Position requires extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
